No worries..

It does save on the time and effort to track down the URL.. It can even grab the so-called 'protected' pictures from sites too..

I love how some people think that things aren't downloaded to their computer.

People on spotify have asked "how do I download these songs"

The answer is invariably "you can't, they are protected"

I may just be being pedantic, but of course, if you hear it or see it, it IS being 'downloaded'. The issue is whether it's stored.

If it's a 'hidden url file' (like youtube) or a stream *like bbc iplayer online, then it's possible to store a local copy. Of course some things are made to be hard, but nothing is impossible if the things arrive at your computer in the first place!

The only thing with some of the BBC stuff is the 'DRM' they put on it, basically tying the media file to the BBCi player, or even the windows media player..

That's all good and well, but people should have the right to use whatever player they like to watch or listen to a media file instead of being forced to install yet another media player that they'd only ever use once, and then if it's got anything to do with Apple or Real it will try it's damnedest to make itself the default player for everything...

Um, I can play BBC stuff quite easily, using mplayer. This means I can full screen it, and also sent it to play on the TV via the tv-out dual monitor thingie on my card.

Whilst I'd like to bask in this unix glory for a bit, I'm sure YOU could do the same thing if you install this:
